Pegazus Guesthouse - Hajdúszoboszló
Hajdúszoboszló
Hajdúszoboszló is located in the north- eastern part of the Great Hungarian Plain, 200 kilometres east of Budapest, and 20 kilometres south-west of Debrecen. One of the natural values of the region, besides the fertile agricultural areas, the gas fields and the thermal water, is the abundance of sunshine. The number of sunshine hours reaches, or sometimes even exceeds, two thousand hours on an annual average.
That is to say, Hajdúszoboszló is one of the sunniest regions in Hungary. The prevailing wind direction is north-western. The micro-climate of the spa and the surroundings, with the iodine content and salty humidity of the air, speeds up recovery.
Accessibility to the spa is ideal. Highway Nr 4 runs next to the town linking several smaller roads between the capital and Záhony, providing convenient travelling conditions for travellers arriving by car or other vehicles. The modern motorway M3 is also easily accessible in the direction of Debrecen. Long-distance bus services connect various regions of the country with this town of "miraculous springs". Local transport from the railway station to the town centre and the holiday district, is available in the form of regular bus services and taxi from early morning until late at night.
The main attraction of Hajdúszoboszló is the spa complex which consists of the famous spa, the Aquapark, outdoor spa and the theme spa Aqua palace. Other popular sights in town are the traditional cottage displaying the life of the people of this town, the Bell House and the Bocskai István Museum.
